CBS News, Texas: Isla + Salvador

Written by Lani Hughes

Recently in Richardson, TX, 5-year-old Salvador Ventura and 4-year-old Isla Biondi experienced the pure thrill of riding a bike—for the very first time. Both received fully customized adaptive bicycles, thanks to a partnership with the team of physical therapists at Comprehensive Therapy and funding from the Foxwynd Foundation.

Meet the Heroes:

Isla, born with spina bifida, was previously unable to feel or move her lower legs. “Her eyes light up when she gets to do the things that other kids can do,” her father shared.

Salvador, with left-side cerebral palsy, was once told he might never walk. His grandmother recounted how the bike opened new horizons for him.

Every bike we deliver just reconfirms that we truly are making a difference in not only a child’s life but also impacting the relationships that surround them. Watch the video below showcasing these deliveries from the eyes of CBS News Texas.
